  • 1 medium seedless watermelon
  • 1 cup jicama, peeled and cubed (approx. 130g)
  • 1 cup cucumber, peeled and cubed (approx. 120g)
  • 1 cup mango, peeled and cubed (approx. 165g)
  • 1 cup pineapple, cubed (approx. 165g)
  • ½ cup strawberries, hulled and halved (approx. 75g)
  • ½ cup chamoy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Tajín seasoning
  • ¼ cup Japanese-style peanuts (optional)
  • Assorted Mexican tamarind candies (e.g., Pulparindo, Tamaroca)
  • Juice of 2 limes

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Watermelon Bowl:
    Slice the watermelon in half lengthwise.
    Slightly trim the bottom of one half to create a stable base.
    Using a knife, score the flesh in a grid pattern, then scoop out the cubes, leaving a hollow shell.
  • Combine the Fruits:
    In a large bowl, combine the watermelon cubes, jicama, cucumber, mango, pineapple, and strawberries.
    Drizzle with lime juice and toss gently to mix.
  • Assemble the Sandía Loca:
    Transfer the mixed fruits back into the hollowed watermelon shell.
    Drizzle chamoy sauce over the top.
    Sprinkle Tajín seasoning evenly.
    Add Japanese-style peanuts and assorted tamarind candies on top.
  • Optional Chilling:
    Place the assembled watermelon in the refrigerator for 15 minutes to enhance flavors.
